WE’RE HOME!

I’ll still be posting some pictures and stuff. But we made it back. One month on the road. Wow. Just in time for the 4th.

Days #27, 28 & 29

So 27 days in and this is my first time updating instead of Rachel. After we left Boulder, we drove to Mount Rushmore, which is smaller than I imagined, but still impressive. On the way to our campsite we saw a buffalo and then there were horses right next to where we were camping. The next day we drove almost the whole length of South Dakota, saw the Badlands and spent the night in a random hotel in Minnesota. Finally we got to Chicago on Friday. We got deep-dish pizza (of course) and saw the bean and all those other weird sculptures in Millennium Park. Last night we went and saw the Improvised Shakespeare company perform an original play. An audience member suggested the title “The Virgin of Menace” and they made it up on the spot. It was funny and nice to do something on a Friday night. Almost home now :/.

Day #26

Mileage: not that much

Spent the day in Boulder. Slept in a bit and then explored Pearl St. Really cool. A lot of great shops and stuff. We had a great lunch and spent too much money in this awesome vintage store called Goldmine. It’s weird being back in hot weather after northern California and Oregon where it was freezing. Got coffee in the afternoon with my friend Adam from MA. Dinner with KJ at this great pizza place and then we hung out with Adam and Erica at their apartment. It was a lot of fun seeing people from Newburyport, makes me miss home a lot, glad I’m heading back soon. Anyways we’re currently driving to Mount Rushmore (the only thing between Boulder and Chicago we sort of want to see).

Sort of blurry, but I think the VW Bus is pretty much the perfect representation of our stay.
